For quite a while now, I've been trying to get a group of people together to play some Tabletop RolePlaying Games. It has been super ineffective.
So this is a call to TTRPG nerds in the community, to get together and get something going. I haven't played in years and years, so if I have to be Game Master, it will probably be a bit of a confusing shitshow. That said, I am more or less ready to run a 1-2 session adventure for either Fear Itself, or for Dark Heresy 1st Edition.
If there's interest, I suggest we use TableTop Simulator. It's got modded-in support for just about every TTRPG system under the Sun.
I'd also like to hear if anyone is interested in a forum section for forum-based roleplaying.
I am not an experienced GM, but I am currently running a campaign with two player groups in the same world. The groups are small so I could definitely add players from RNGGods if people are interested. The system is HackMaster 5e, which is kind of like a revamped D&D 2nd Edition system.
You are on a continent called Sovereign, where 120 years ago, people from the main setting of the game, Kalamar, sailed, settled, and subdued it. The continent is quite expansive and generally looks like the United States. Except, you know, it isn't. It's a generic fantasy world. In this low-magic setting, adventurers are less like Aragorn and Gandalf from LOTR, and more like Frodo and Sam. A fight with a single orc is a terrifying venture, and certainly a small horde of 5 is a match for even the seasoned adventurer. Instead of starting off as a hero and working your way up to superhero, you start off as a commoner that has to work up to become a hero who then might even become a superhero.
As for my GMing style, I'm chill and laid-back, but also a little bit vindictive. It's not uncommon to have previous actions come back to bite the players, and even in the best of situations, something small is bound to go wrong. However, this is not a killer campaign; your characters may die, but if they die, it's definitely their own fault and avoidable.
The campaign is still in its infancy, so if anyone is interested, please let me know. I'd love to have a stronger RNGGods influence in the campaign!
